Guardians of the cryptids — standing watch over the wild unknown.
The Cryptid Conservancy exists to protect the world's hidden and unconfirmed species — the cryptids — and the wild places they call home. We believe that what is not yet understood deserves guardianship, not exploitation.
Defending the wilderness areas where cryptid activity is reported, so these beings have sanctuary whether or not science has named them.
Non-invasive, leave-no-trace field practices: no harassment, no harm, no trophy hunting of the unexplained.
Protecting the privacy and dignity of witnesses who come forward — never exposing them to ridicule or exploitation.
Replacing fear and mockery with curiosity and respect through honest, evidence-based outreach.
The Conservancy's special operations arm — an elite field-protection unit charged with the extreme protection of relict hominin populations and their habitats. Dedication is absolute; the commitment of effort and resources is total. The SOG protects without harm, leaves no trace, operates strictly within the law, and never discloses what it guards.
Patrol and defense of active relict-hominin ranges against poachers, logging incursions, and reckless intrusion.
Intelligence desk monitoring reports, land-use changes, and emerging threats to known or suspected populations.
Fast deployment when a population faces imminent danger — armed intruders, broken ground, a sighting gone viral.
Protection of witnesses who report threats, including anonymity and, where needed, physical presence.
“We stand between the wild unknown and those who would harm it.”
Founded in 2026 by Dr. Joseph Thornburg, The Cryptid Conservancy is the protection arm of a lifelong cryptozoology mission — a sister initiative to the Institute of Hominology & Scientific Expedition (IHSE), which pursues the research. The Conservancy stands guard.
